Tamannaah Bhatia, referred by the mononym Tamannaah, is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in South Indian cinema. She made her acting debut in 2005 in both Hindi and Telugu with the films ''Chand Sa Roshan Chehra'' and ''Sri'' respectively. She made her Tamil debut in 2006 with the film ''Kedi''. All the three films were commercial failures. After the commercial failure of the Tamil film ''Viyabari'', She got her breakthrough in 2007 with the films ''Happy Days'' and ''Kalloori'' in Telugu and Tamil cinema respectively, where she played the role of a college student in both of them. Apart from making a cameo appearance in the Telugu film ''Ready'' and the Telugu-Tamil bilingual ''Ninna Nedu Repu'' / ''Netru Indru Naalai'', she appeared in the Telugu film ''Kalidasu'' in 2008 which was an average grosser. In 2009, she appeared in four Tamil films ''Padikkadavan'', ''Ayan'', ''Ananda Thandavam'', ''Kanden Kadhalai'' and the Telugu film ''Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam''. Except for ''Ananda Thandavam'', the other three Tamil films were commercially successful, while ''Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam'' became an average grosser. In 2010, she appeared in three Tamil films ''Paiyaa'', ''Sura'' and ''Thillalangadi'' in which only ''Paiyaa'' was commercially successful. Apart from making a cameo appearance in the song "Aga Naga" from the Tamil film ''Ko'', she appeared in three Telugu films ''100% Love'', ''Badrinath'', ''Oosaravelli'' and two Tamil films ''Siruthai'', ''Venghai'' in 2011 making her comeback to Telugu cinema. Out of them, ''Siruthai'', ''100% Love'' and ''Badrinath'' were commercially successful, while ''Venghai'' and ''Oosaravelli'' under-performed at the box office. In 2012, she starred in four Telugu films''Racha'', ''Endhukante... Premanta!'', ''Rebel'' and ''Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu''. Out of them, ''Racha'' and ''Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu'' were major commercially successful films, while the other two became commercial failures. In 2013, she starred in two remakes, the first one being ''Himmatwala'' and the other one being ''Tadakha'' which were the official remakes of 1983 Hindi film of the same name and the Tamil film ''Vettai'' respectively. The former of the two, which marked her comeback to Hindi cinema, was declared a flop, while the latter was a commercial success. In 2014, she made a cameo appearance in the song "Labbar Bomma" from the Telugu film ''Alludu Seenu'' which was also her first item number. Apart from that, she starred in the commercially successful Tamil film ''Veeram'', and two commercial failures namely ''Humshakals'', and ''Aagadu'' while her other Hindi film ''Entertainment'' was declared a semi-hit. In 2015, she made a cameo appearance as herself in the Tamil film ''Nannbenda'' and dubbed her own voice for the same. In July 2015, her two-part multilingual fictional epic film ''Baahubali'', co-starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty was released. In ''Baahubali'', she played the role of Avanthika, a warrior princess of an unspecified era. For her role, she had to lose five to six kilos of weight and also, special care was taken regarding the looks, costumes and jewellery of her character.
